Sharing Thanks: Phil Marcus

phil_marcus_111013UPDATE: 11/19/13

It is with a sad heart that I write this update about my friend Phil Marcus. In July, Phil was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer and I learned last Friday that he passed away on November 4th, making this thanks just 8 days shy of Phil publicly seeing just how much I appreciated him.

So, I encourage you to share your thanks with someone you appreciate sooner, rather than later. Rest in peace Phil, and my sincerest condolences to Phil’s wife Peg and his whole family.

All too often we are forced to honor a person after they are gone and it’s too late for them to hear it. I have recently been thinking of this and wonder why we’re always cautious, sometimes even fearful of showing our gratitude – now.

So, I want to express my sincere appreciation and heartfelt gratitude for one of my strategic partners, Phil Marcus who has had a profound impact on not only Propel Businessworks the business, but on my individual life as well… and all in the short time I have known him.

Phil Marcus is the Intellectual Property Attorney who helped me obtain trademark rights for the Propel ‘propeller’ logo, and for ‘Plan Promote Prosper’.  A wonderful example of knowledge and professionalism, Phil has consistently embodied business integrity and has been honest in his caring for the welfare of me and my business. From the first phone call we shared, I was impressed and I knew we would get along swell – and we have.

Phil has talked me through scenarios, down from ledges and while sitting in my car in a parking lot one day, he even talked me right onto my own mental beach. A multi-faceted and humorous expert, Phil is thoughtful, practical and fair.

Thank you Phil! From the bottom of my heart. I have learned so much from you and I’m grateful. You have made an impact!
