My Entrepreversary

JT-20

Each year I celebrate my divinely executed exit from corporate employment on March 31st and my step into business ownership on April 1st (no joke!). I call it my entrepreversary and last week I celebrated twelve years!

Twelve years that I’ve been running my own show, managing my own schedule, serving some absolutely amazing businesses, and contrary to popular belief that being an entrepreneur means you are your own boss (semi-true), I’ve spent the last 12 years working for multiple bosses instead of just one. (This is what happens when you have multiple clients. 😉)

No matter how hard or challenging the first few years seemed, three people get outstanding credit for keeping me sane and encouraging me to keep walking forward.

  1. My husband. Without him, I may have given up time and again. And without him, I may be back to working for someone else because his income sustained us in the first couple years. Thank you, honey!
  2. My mom. Because each and every time I called sharing a frustrating story or complaining about the stress, she would tell me to “just go get a good, steady 9-5 job and punch in and out each day”. Thank you mom, for always reminding me why I started in the first place. I can’t work for an employer again. This is too valuable to me. It’s my purpose.
  3. My dad. Dad is my mentor, my go-to situation advisor, and we can ‘talk shop’ all day every day and never tire of it. Thanks for being such a good example, and for giving me these genes, dad. 😉

Cheers to the next 12 and thank you for allowing me to be a part of YOUR business! Whoever you are, you are the reason. So, thank YOU, too!

    You are welcome.
…it is exciting to walk with you in this very special time!
