Have you ever done a tech or social detox? Did you commit to a multi-day avoidance? If so, how did you do? Did you know detoxes don’t have to last a week or a full month? Twenty-four hours might be all you need or can take to reset, but even a single day tech detox will do you wonders.
You can trust that I routinely lead by example and decide on no technology Saturday’s or Sunday’s on the regular, and I’m encouraging you to try it, too!
Can you do it? Can you enjoy a whole day of rest without wearing your smart watch, checking your laptop or phone, or any social channels? Maybe it’s as simple as turning the TV or radio off and enjoying a quiet day without noise and distraction.
I challenge you to try it. Maybe you start with 6 or 12 hours and work your way up. Sometimes it takes practice, but the more you commit to the discipline the better you’ll feel and longer you’ll be able to go without technology in order to submit to your true priorities.
I’ll see ya’ll back here in the weeks ahead. Same day, same entre channel. In the meantime, if you try taking a 1/4, 1/2 or full day detox, I’d love to hear about your approach and how it goes. Inspire others with your experience by leaving your thoughts in the comments below.
