Onward!
Marching our business growth forward into 2014!
“This year has been quite a journey. We started strong and encountered a few forks in the road, as most businesses will, which ultimately proved to lead to new developments, a partnership with a local startup Choose Growth, and the exciting launch of our sister company Plan Promote Prosper.
Of course we had new team members join our family and others who moved on to other adventures. One of those moving onward (albeit hopefully temporarily) will be my 3-year communication veteran Sarah Gill, who will be embarking on an amazing world-wide quest with her husband for 11 months beginning in July of 2014! Excited for her opportunity, I knew I needed to find someone to continue carrying her torch – and so my search began last June.
It is not shocking to anyone that I am a planner, and this year was no different. I knew mid-year that 2014 is going to be an amazing year of growth! And boy have I been preparing! Preparing to build Plan Promote Prosper, preparing to transition Sarah off our team, preparing to train a new assistant, and preparing to hit the ground running!
Finally in November I shared an exciting announcement that I found Sarah’s successor! I hired Shawna who has already been a great addition to our team and I’m very confident will be with the Propel Businessworks family for years to come! Her strengths bring even more dynamic strategy to my business goals and plans and I can’t wait to see what is around the next corner.
As we wrap up 2013, it is with great humility and gratefulness that I recap what I’ve not only experienced this year, but what I’ve learned.
My lesson for 2013: Trusting your instincts is SO important – as entrepreneurs we can often find ourselves afraid to believe we know (or can quickly find) the answers. This lesson is only second to the profound truth that we must rest if we are to continue. Building and regaining our strength is vital to our success. So, taking time to smell the roses when we need to should be a priority.
May your New Year bring you inspiration, hope and an excitement for what is coming!”
– Jamie Teasdale, Founder & CEO
“What a whirlwind this year has been! 2013 is wrapping up far differently than I thought it would 12 months ago. As Jamie mentioned, after 3 years my time with Propel is wrapping up – which is very bittersweet! My husband and I will be leaving in July of 2014 for 11 months in which we will be traveling to 11 different countries. Working with Propel has been my favorite job ever; it has been a privilege to be part of such a dynamic team and growing business. Shawna is fantastic, and I look forward to the possibility of rejoining the Propel team on our return! Life often takes unexpected turns, bringing us good things in unlikely packages. The best we can do is take things one step at a time, seeing where each open door takes us.”

“Although this year has come to a close, I have already learned and experienced so much! It has been such a pleasure working for Propel Businessworks; I can only imagine what is in store for 2014. Joining the team a few months ago, I was immediately immersed in new and ongoing projects, client relations, writing blog posts, managing social media, constructing blog plans and content for websites, and I haven’t looked back since. As Einstein once said, “If a cluttered desk signs a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?” Because of Propel Businessworks and all of our remarkable clients, I hope my desk continues to stay cluttered all through the New Year.
Special thanks to Jamie and Sarah for welcoming me so warmly into the Propel Businessworks community!“
